Health Monitoring in the Hauts-de-France Region. Update as of December 24, 2020.
Key Points
COVID-19
In Hauts-de-France, for the second consecutive week, there has been a resurgence of the epidemic, with a significant increase since last week in the regional incidence rate and epidemic dynamics indicators. The situation continues to deteriorate in Aisne, Somme, and Pas-de-Calais. It remains generally stable at a high level in Nord and Oise.
Against the backdrop of a significant increase in the testing rate in the region (+30%), the positivity rate is decreasing. It has fallen below the alert threshold (5%) in the Oise and the Nord, particularly in the Lille metropolitan area.
Winter Epidemics
Influenza and influenza-like illnesses: no influenza activity at the regional level.
Bronchiolitis: stable trend.
Gastroenteritis: stable trend.
All-cause mortality
At the regional level, a significant excess mortality has been observed since week S43. At the subregional level, excess mortality remains significant in week S50 in the departments of Aisne and Nord. The intensity and extent of the excess mortality currently observed will be determined by the consolidation of data in the coming weeks and require heightened vigilance.
