Health Monitoring in the Hauts-de-France Region. Update as of December 10, 2020.
Key Points
COVID-19
Since last week, there has been a marked slowdown in the decline of the epidemic at the regional and local levels. Against a backdrop of declining testing rates, regional and departmental incidence rates remain high with no significant change across any age group.
Bronchiolitis (in children under 2 years of age)
In week 49, activity related to bronchiolitis was on the rise at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments, at a moderate level for both sources, reflecting a significantly later onset of activity compared to previous seasons.
Influenza and influenza-like illnesses
Since the resumption of influenza surveillance, visits for influenza-like illness to SOS Médecins and emergency departments have remained stable at a low level, with visits to SOS Médecins below those observed during the same period in previous seasons.
Acute gastroenteritis
In week 49, activity for acute gastroenteritis remains low and generally stable in visits to emergency departments and SOS Médecins. Compared to previous seasons, the level of visits for acute gastroenteritis is significantly lower, which may be attributed to the strengthening of hygiene measures in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic
All-cause mortality
At the regional level, a significant excess of all-cause mortality has been observed since week S43, across all age groups and among people aged 65 and older.
