Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The number of visits for flu-like illness in private practice and at primary care centers decreased during the third and fourth weeks of March: the epidemic continues at levels similar to those observed at the start of the outbreak. During this same period, activity related to visits for flu-like illness was low to moderate in the emergency departments of CHAR, CHK, and GMC.Since the start of the epidemic, influenza A and B viruses, as well as RSV A and RSV B, have been identified. Three severe cases of influenza have been admitted to the CHAR intensive care unit since the start of the epidemic, one of whom has died.
