Key Points
Dengue
Over the past two weeks, dengue activity in the region remained low, with 9 confirmed cases (5 in S44 and 4 in S43), including 5 residing in the Savanes sector, 1 on the West Coast, and 3 for whom the location was undetermined.
Malaria
The number of malaria cases was low and stable over the past two weeks, with only 1 case reported (1 in S44 and 0 in S43 vs. 2 in total in S42 and S41). This was a P. vivax case.
Acute respiratory infections
Flu-like syndromes, influenza: The number of consultations for flu-like syndromes was moderate and stable across the entire territory. Over the past two weeks, 12 influenza viruses (all Influenza A, including 5 H1N1pdm09) were identified by laboratories.
Bronchiolitis: Bronchiolitis activity was stable and moderate across the territory. Over the past two weeks, 16 samples positive for RSV were identified by laboratories, including 3 RSV B, and 3 severe cases of bronchiolitis (including 2 due to RSV) were reported by the three hospitals in French Guiana.
COVID-19: COVID-19 activity remained very low throughout French Guiana.
Diarrhea
Diarrhea-related activity was decreasing but remained high in primary care centers and local hospitals, as well as in the emergency departments of the three hospitals.
