Key Points

Dengue

  • Over the past two weeks, dengue activity in the region remained low, with 6 confirmed cases (3 in S45 and 3 in S46), including 1 resident on the island of Cayenne and 5 for whom the location was undetermined.

Malaria

  • A total of 146 cases of malaria have been reported since the beginning of the year.

Acute respiratory infections

  • Flu-like illnesses, influenza: The number of consultations for flu-like illnesses was generally moderate and stable across the territory.

  • Bronchiolitis: Activity related to bronchiolitis was slightly down and moderate across the territory. Over the past two weeks, 6 samples positive for RSV were identified by the laboratories at the University Hospital of French Guiana.

  • COVID-19: COVID-19 activity remained low throughout French Guiana.

Diarrhea

  • Diarrhea-related activity was relatively stable at moderate levels in primary care centers (CDPS) and local hospitals, as well as in the emergency departments of the three University Hospital (CHU) sites.
