Key Points

Dengue

  • The dengue epidemic has been over in the region since the end of August. Over the past two weeks, the number of visits for dengue-like syndrome has remained stable at a low to moderate level, depending on the area.

Malaria

  • The number of malaria cases diagnosed in the healthcare system over the past two weeks remained low despite an increase in S49, with a total of 14 cases of P. vivax (11 in S49 and 3 in S50).

Acute Respiratory Infections

  • The RSV bronchiolitis epidemic among children under two years of age continues in French Guiana, with a downward trend. At the same time, the circulation of ARIs has remained stable in primary care over the past four weeks. Data on emergency department visits have not been available since week 46 due to a data transmission issue at the CHC.

Diarrhea

  • Activity has increased significantly in community practice along the coast. In isolated communities (CDPS and local hospitals), the situation is improving.
