Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Viral circulation is clearly on the rise in Martinique, where the epidemiological situation regarding Zika remains at Level 2 of the Psage for emerging arboviruses: early stages of local transmission. The known areas most affected are central Martinique, the North Caribbean region, and certain municipalities in the south.The epidemiological situation regarding Zika in French Guiana corresponds to Level 2 of the Psage "emerging arbovirus disease": early indigenous transmission of the virus. The known affected areas are the island of Cayenne, the Kourou sector (Kourou and Sinnamary), and western French Guiana (Saint Laurent du Maroni).The epidemiological situation regarding Zika in Guadeloupe and the collectivity of Saint Barthélemy corresponds to Level 1c of the Psage "emerging arbovirus": no confirmed local viral circulation, with viral circulation in the other overseas departments and territories, Martinique, and French Guiana. In Saint Martin, the epidemiological situation will be assessed shortly following the recent laboratory confirmation of a locally acquired case.
