Epidemiological Situation of Malaria in French Guiana. Update as of March 1, 2015.

Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Malaria activity has been low to moderate since mid-November 2015. The municipalities with the highest number of malaria cases and infections during this period are Maripa-Soula and St Georges de l'Oyapock. The seasonal resurgence typically seen at the end of the year did not occur in the Oyapock sector (the last one dating back to late 2012/early 2013). However, it is worth noting occasional and localized increases in the number of malaria cases, such as in Trois-Palétuviers and Trois-Sauts. The malaria risk map has not yet been validated by the expert committee and will therefore be released at a later date.
