Epidemiological Situation of Dengue Fever in Martinique. Update as of August 4, 2016.

Situation Analysis

Over the past eight weeks, all epidemiological indicators for dengue have remained stable and below the maximum values expected for the season. No isolated outbreaks have been identified during this period.

Because the Zika epidemic makes serological diagnosis of dengue cases difficult to interpret, dengue outbreaks may be harder to detect. In this context, it is important to confirm the diagnosis of dengue by RT-PCR if the onset of symptoms occurred less than 5 days ago.

The epidemiological situation of dengue in Martinique remains at Phase 2, Level 1 of the PSAGE dengue protocol: isolated outbreak(s).
