Epidemiological Situation of Dengue Fever in French Guiana. Update as of June 20, 2019.

Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

During May and June, two dengue outbreaks as well as isolated cases of locally acquired dengue were identified in Kourou.
This situation led the Committee on Infectious and Emerging Diseases to propose moving to Phase 2 of the dengue Psage* “Outbreak(s)” for the Kourou sector.
This phase change was approved on June 19, 2019, by the Management Committee.

The epidemiological situation regarding dengue remains stable in the rest of the territory and continues to correspond to Phase 1 of the Psage* dengue protocol: sporadic cases.
