Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The epidemic appears to be leveling off across all regions of French Guiana, with the number of clinically suggestive cases remaining stable on the island of Cayenne and in western French Guiana, and decreasing in the Kourou region.On December 23, 2014, the management committee determined that the municipalities from Papaïchton to Cayenne were in Phase 3 of the Psage, corresponding to an epidemic situation. The other municipalities remained in Phase 2b, corresponding to moderate local transmission of the virus with epidemic outbreaks and local chains of transmission.
