Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The epidemic continues in western French Guiana and along the Maroni River; it is intensifying in the Kourou area and appears to be leveling off in the Cayenne area. On December 23, the management committee determined that the municipalities from Papaïchton to Cayenne were in Phase 3 of the Psage, corresponding to an epidemic situation. The other municipalities remained in Phase 2b, corresponding to moderate local transmission of the virus with epidemic clusters and local chains of transmission.
