The circulation of the virus responsible for COVID-19 has intensified across the territory, particularly on the island of Cayenne and in Kourou, amid increased circulation of the V3 (BR) and V1 (UK) variants. These variants now account for more than 70% of the samples screened and/or sequenced in French Guiana. Thus, the majority of cases currently detected are variants.
