COVID-19

In Week 12 of 2023, SARS-CoV-2 transmission stabilized in the Grand Est region:

• New hospitalizations in critical care remain stable for the second consecutive week;

• Increase in the proportion of COVID-19 cases among emergency department visits and at SOS Médecins clinics in the region;

• Incidence rates continue to rise across all departments. The highest incidence rates are observed in Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, and Moselle (184 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, 133 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, and 121 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, respectively); and the lowest is observed in Haute-Marne (52 cases per 100,000 inhabitants).

Influenza and Influenza-Like Illnesses

• OSCOUR®: In week 12-2023, the number of emergency department visits for flu-like illness, across all age groups, has continued to decline slightly over the past several weeks (214 compared to 234 in week 11-2023). The proportion of flu-related cases remains stable, with 0.9% of emergency department visits attributed to the flu.

• SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for flu-like illness, all ages, is down compared to the previous week (586 consultations versus 651 in Week 11 of 2023), representing 8.2% of activity.

Acute Gastroenteritis

• OSCOUR®: The number of emergency department visits for acute gastroenteritis (AG) across all age groups is down compared to the previous week, with 294 visits in Week 12-2023, representing 1.2% of total activity.

• SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for acute gastroenteritis across all age groups decreased slightly in week 12-2023, with 546 visits (compared to 596 in week 11-2023), representing a 7.7% share of activity.
