The region experienced two heat waves during the summer of 2025. The heat’s impact on health resulted in 454 heat-related deaths over the course of the summer. In addition, there were 1,478 emergency room visits (959 of which led to hospitalization) and 466 SOS Médecins calls for iCanicule.
