Public Health Surveillance in the Centre Region. Epidemiological Update as of January 18, 2013.

Influenza: Week 02-2013: The epidemic continues in mainland France with three types of influenza viruses circulating simultaneously (A(H3N2), A(H1N1)pdm09, and B). As of January 13, the incidence rate estimated by the Sentinelles network remains above the epidemic threshold. In the Centre region, as well as in Limousin and Corsica, incidence rates were lowest during Week 02 (January 7–13).
Acute Gastroenteritis (AGE): Week 02-2013: The incidence rate is above the national epidemic threshold in 16 regions, including the Centre region. The new GII4 norovirus variant (Sydney 2012) is responsible for the majority of AGE clusters reported to the National Reference Center for Enteric Viruses.
Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning: Nationwide, 589 cases of poisoning have been reported since September 1, 2012, including 23 deaths. In the Centre region, as of January 10, 2013, 29 cases were reported (57 people). Note that the majority of poisonings are related to the home environment (poor ventilation).
