COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Centre-Val de Loire Region as of May 6, 2021

In Week 17, virological surveillance indicators declined as testing rates stabilized.

  • Decrease in the incidence rate and positivity rate across all departments and age groups.

  • Decrease in emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19

  • Decrease in the proportion of procedures for suspected COVID-19 cases handled by SOS Médecins

  • Stabilization in the number of reports of the 20I/501Y.V1 (UK) variant, which remains predominant in the region (77.8%), and an increase in reports of the 20H/501Y.V2 (South Africa) and 20J/501Y.V3 (Brazil) variants (3.9%)

Prevention

  • Vaccination: In Centre-Val de Loire, 638,413 people have received at least one dose (CV: 24.9%) and 250,873 people are fully vaccinated (CV: 9.8%).

  • Results of the CoviPrev survey in Centre-Val de Loire from April 21 to 23:

    • Slight increase and continued high levels of adherence to hygiene measures and contact restrictions

    • Slight decrease in anxiety and depressive symptoms

  • Importance of consistently following preventive measures and limiting contact and travel

  • In the event of symptoms, the need for immediate isolation and testing as soon as possible
