BronchiolitisPre-epidemic phase. Another increase in visits to hospital emergency departments despite the school vacation period: the number of cases exceeds seasonal averages. The epidemic is expected to begin in the coming weeks. Increase in the proportion of positive RSV test results at the Virology Laboratory of the Brest University Hospital (positivity rate = 19%) and a decrease at the Rennes University Hospital (16%).
Asthma: Sustained activity continues at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments. Among those under 15 years of age, asthma accounts for 5.1% and 3.2% of consultations with a coded diagnosis, respectively. Concurrent with significant viral circulation of rhinoviruses and enteroviruses identified in respiratory specimens analyzed at the virology laboratories of the Rennes and Brest University Hospitals.
ENT Conditions: Consultations for stable ENT conditions remained at a sustained level (SOS Médecins and emergency departments) (data not shown).
Influenza and influenza-like illness: Sporadic detection of influenza A virus in respiratory specimens analyzed at the virology laboratories of the Brest and Rennes university hospitals since mid-October. First detection of influenza B virus in week 44 at the Rennes university hospital. (data not shown).
