Bronchiolitis (children under 2 years of age) A new sharp increase in emergency room visits (+71%) marks the start of the epidemic in the region. It accounts for 12% of diagnoses coded in emergency departments among children under 2 years of age. Nearly a quarter of these visits resulted in hospitalization.The outbreak is taking hold in the eastern part of the region and is expected to spread rapidly westward. Viral circulation according to data from the Virology Laboratory at Rennes University Hospital: positivity rate = 16% out of 63 samples. Gastroenteritis: Activity has remained above seasonal averages for SOS Médecins calls since mid-October, accounting for 7.8% of coded diagnoses across all age groups.In hospital emergency departments, the number of visits is within seasonal averages. High activity in primary care: incidence rate of acute diarrhea estimated at 273 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [131, 415], unconsolidated Sentinelles data).
