BronchiolitisIncreased use of hospital emergency departments: the number of cases is close to the high seasonal averages during this first week of school vacation.Increase in positive RSV test results among samples analyzed at the Virology Laboratory of Rennes University Hospital (positivity rate = 25%) and Brest University Hospital (positivity rate = 12%).

Asthma: The number of SOS Médecins consultations and the number of emergency room visits are within seasonal ranges. Among those under 15 years of age, this condition accounts for 2.3% and 3.8% of consultations with a coded diagnosis, respectively. Concurrent with high viral circulation of rhinoviruses and enteroviruses identified in respiratory specimens analyzed at the Virology Laboratory of the Rennes University Hospital.

Influenza and influenza-like illnessThe influenza vaccination campaign has been underway since October 6, 2017. The Virology Laboratory at Rennes University Hospital reports its first detections of influenza A virus in two respiratory specimens (data not shown).
