Key Points

Invasive Meningococcal Infections

  • In Brittany, 24 cases of invasive meningococcal disease (IMD) were reported throughout 2024. Since the beginning of 2025 and as of February 26, 2025, 17 cases have already been recorded, including 11 in Ille-et-Vilaine.

Influenza and influenza-like illness

  • Post-epidemic activity. Decline in the monitored epidemic indicators.

Bronchiolitis

  • No epidemic activity. Slight increase in RSV detection according to the Virology Laboratory at Rennes University Hospital and stable RSV detection according to the Virology Laboratory at Brest University Hospital. Other viruses capable of causing bronchiolitis are circulating, notably rhinoviruses.

Pneumonia

  • Decrease in visits to hospital emergency departments and increase in calls to SOS Médecins. Demand remains high among adults.

Gastroenteritis

  • High activity. Indicators show a decrease in the number of emergency room visits and an increase in SOS Médecins consultations.
