Key Points

Heat-related illnesses

  • Two heat waves affected Brittany from June 19 to 21 (Week 25) and from June 28 to July 1 (Weeks 26/27).

  • In city and hospital emergency rooms, peaks in activity for heat-related illnesses (iCanicule indicators) were observed during S25 and S27, consistent with rising temperatures and the issuance of orange or yellow heat advisories by Météo-France for some Breton departments.

  • Brittany has been under a green heat wave alert since July 2. Météo-France does not foresee any changes in the coming days.

Allergies

  • The Capt’air Bretagne association maintains a high risk for grass pollen in part of the region.

Enterovirus meningitis

  • A surge in activity in emergency rooms and an increase in the number of positive enterovirus meningitis test results from cerebrospinal fluid samples, according to the virology laboratories at the Brest University Hospital and the Rennes University Hospital.
