Key Points

Whooping Cough

  • A sharp decline in the number of emergency room visits was observed in September (27 visits compared to 47 in August 2024) compared to previous months.

  • A slight decrease in the number of SOS Médecins consultations for pertussis was observed in September compared to the previous two months.

COVID-19

  • A slight decrease in visits to community and hospital emergency departments.

Bronchiolitis

  • Resumption of bronchiolitis surveillance starting in Week 40.

  • An initial increase in SOS Médecins consultations was observed in Week 39.

Pneumonia

  • Pneumonia activity is similar to 2023 levels (same period) for hospital emergency departments and slightly higher for community-based emergency departments.

Asthma

  • Decrease in visits to community and hospital emergency departments compared to the previous week (all ages), affecting those under 15. An increase in activity is noted among 15- to 74-year-olds in hospital emergency departments.
