Heat-related illnesses

  • The region has experienced three periods of extreme heat since the start of the seasonal monitoring period: around June 20 (S25), around June 30 (S26-27), and in mid-August (S33). Brittany has been under a green heat wave alert since August 18.

Allergies

  • Decrease in emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations.

Asthma at the start of the school year

  • An increase in emergency room visits has been observed across all age groups (93 visits in S36 compared to 59 in S35). In S36, children under 15 accounted for 55% of cases (compared to 44% in S35). Asthma accounted for 2.0% of emergency room visits for this age group (compared to 1.1% in S35), and 0.6% across all age groups.
