Key bridges

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic activity. Decrease in all monitored indicators, particularly RSV detection according to the virology laboratories at Rennes University Hospital and Brest University Hospital. The peak of the epidemic appears to have passed.

  • Maternal vaccination and infant immunization with monoclonal antibodies are two alternative prevention strategies against RSV bronchiolitis.

Influenza and influenza-like illness

  • Epidemic activity, rising phase. Sharp increase in all monitored indicators. Detection of influenza A and B viruses according to data from the virology laboratories at Rennes University Hospital and Brest University Hospital.

  • The vaccination campaign against influenza and COVID-19 continues through January 31, 2025.

Acute gastroenteritis (AGE)

  • Moderate activity. Upward trend in monitored indicators, but remaining within the average range of observations from previous years during the same period.

Pneumonias

  • Increased use of hospital emergency departments and SOS Médecins. Trends similar to those of the 2022–2023 season during the same period.
