City-wide monitoring

  • SOS Médecins: 50 consultations for acute respiratory infections per 100,000 inhabitants (S18, 63 in S17)

  • Sentinel Network: 43 consultations for acute respiratory infections (ARI) per 100,000 inhabitants (S18, 59 in S17)

Virological Surveillance

  • Over 32,400 tests conducted since the start of surveillance

  • 2,510 biologically confirmed cases as of May 5, 2020

Surveillance in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes

  • 302 facilities with a report that declared 86 deaths in the facility, including 69 in the 103 facilities with a confirmed case.

Hospital surveillance

  • Oscour® Network: 206 visits for suspected COVID-19 (Week 18 vs. 270 in Week 17).

  • Hospital wards: 352 hospitalized patients, including 40 in intensive care as of May 6, 2020.

  • Sentinel intensive care units: 55% of cases aged 65 and older and 73% with at least one comorbidity.

Mortality surveillance

  • At the regional level, no excess mortality was detected through week S17.

  • Only the Morbihan department observed excess mortality in week S14 (all ages, among those aged 15–64, and among those aged 65 and older).
