Onsexprime.fr: Santé publique France Launches a New Sexuality Education Campaign

One of Santé publique France’s missions is to promote a positive introduction to sexuality for young people. Starting October 12, 2016, Santé publique France is launching a new web campaign on “first times” and is enriching its onsexprime.fr website—which has become a go-to resource for teenagers—with new content. The onset of sexual activity is an important milestone that raises concerns and questions among young people. After friends, the Internet is a major source of information. Since 2009, the site has been supporting teenagers as they discover their sexuality. As an informative and interactive tool, the site addresses all aspects of sexuality—including anatomy, first-time experiences, prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), feelings, and pleasure—in a simple and positive manner."Question d’ados," the site’s informational brochure, provides clear and straightforward answers to the questions—including the most sensitive ones—that teens, both boys and girls, ask about love, sexuality, contraception, abortion, STIs, HIV/AIDS, and condoms. It also includes instructions for using male and female condoms, and a list of helpful phone numbers rounds out the document. The website is being enriched with new dynamic and accessible content, including the animated module "Friends vs. Reality," which allows teens to take a step back from their peers’ opinions.Finally, building on a YouTube channel with over 6 million views, Santé publique France is launching new videos about first-time experiences. Seven YouTubers who are very popular among teenagers candidly share their stories about their first sexual encounter and their first relationships. These short interviews address questions young people ask themselves about their first sexual encounter: "First night or 10th date," "chit-chat or condom," "prepared or overwhelmed," "sprint or marathon." The videos will be available online and on social media starting October 12, 2016.
