Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of July 7, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
SARS-CoV-2 viral circulation is on the rise in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté for the fifth consecutive week, with incidence and positivity rates increasing in all departments and across all age groups. Côte-d’Or and Doubs have incidence rates close to the national rate (1,153 per 100,000 inhabitants). SOS Médecin activity is high (over 10%).
The Omicron variant is the only one circulating in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region (100% of RT-PCR tests sequenced in S25). The BA.4 and BA.5 sublineages of the Omicron variant account for more than 80% in all departments except Territoire-de-Belfort, Yonne, and Nièvre according to screening data, but sequencing results are too limited to confirm this.
Regarding hospital activity, the number of new hospitalizations is rising slightly. The number of new admissions to intensive care has doubled compared to last week (26 vs. 13 in week 25), with a particularly sharp increase in admission rates among those aged 80 and older.
Extreme heat, heat wave
No unusual increase in activity at emergency departments or SOS Médecins associations in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
Indicators for heat-related illnesses remain stable at a low level.
