Headlines - Call for proposals to analyze data from InVS epidemiological studies, including the creation of a database

As part of its surveillance activities, the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS) conducts population-based surveys that include at least one collection of information via a questionnaire of varying detail, as well as biological samples (blood, urine, etc.). Depending on the objectives, these studies have been conducted in the general population or in specific subpopulations. Databases were thus created following the fieldwork phase of the surveys and also during the pilot phases of some of them. Now that the analyses corresponding to the main objectives of the studies have been completed, the InVS wishes to make the databases and data sets from these surveys available to the scientific community for additional analysis projects.

The 7 surveys in question are:

  • the 2006–2007 Nutrition and Health Survey (ENNS);

  • the 2004 ENNS pilot survey;

  • the 2004 and 2011 Food Intake and Nutritional Status of Food Aid Recipients (Abena) surveys;

  • the 2008-2009 Survey on the Prevalence of Lead Poisoning in Children Aged 6 Months to 6 Years (Saturn-inf);

  • the 2009–2010 Infectious Disease Serology Survey (Sero-inf) for ages 6 to 49;

  • the pilot survey on Diet, Nutritional Status, and Mental Health of Institutionalized Older Adults (Anaïs).

Links providing access to a general description of each survey, the nature of the available dataset, analyses already completed or in progress…and reference documents useful to teams interested in conducting additional analyses using these data are available on the InVS website. Access to the databases is free; however, costs associated with accessing and using the dataset are the responsibility of the requesting team. This call for proposals will close at the end of 2013.
