Headlines - 2012 NOYADES Survey – 3 deaths per day in France from June 1 to July 26
The NOYADES surveys have been conducted for over 10 years by the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS) in collaboration with the Directorate General for Civil Security and Crisis Management of the Ministry of the Interior. These surveys cover the summer period (June 1–September 30) with the aim of collecting and analyzing data on drownings occurring in metropolitan France and the overseas departments and territories (DOM-TOM), in order to guide prevention and regulatory efforts. They rely on information gathered by all individuals and organizations involved in emergency response. [...]
