Situation in Rhône-Alpes

  • Carbon Monoxide Poisoning During the month of January, the number of reported cases of carbon monoxide poisoning decreased.

  • Flu-like Illnesses The flu epidemic continued in our region during weeks 3 and 4 (January 14–27), with a significant increase in the number of flu-like illnesses, estimated at 629 and 905 cases per 100,000 residents, respectively.As of January 27, 35 severe cases of influenza, including one death, had been recorded in our region, representing one-fifth of all cases recorded nationwide.

  • Acute Respiratory Infections in Senior Care FacilitiesA summary of clusters of acute respiratory infections in senior care facilities.

  • Acute Diarrhea / GastroenteritisActivity is declining in our region. The incidence rate estimated by the Sentinelles network for weeks 3 and 4 (January 14–27) is 229 weekly cases per 100,000 inhabitants, below the epidemic threshold.

  • ChickenpoxSeveral regional outbreaks have been identified by the Sentinelles network in Rhône-Alpes; activity is considered low to moderate for weeks 3 and 4 (January 14–27), with 13 and 28 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, respectively.
