By August 23, 2012, no departments remained at Level 2, marking a maximum duration of 6 days for the Rhône and Isère. Since the end of week 34, temperatures have returned to near seasonal norms. It was not until Sunday, August 26, that air pollution indicators returned to a good level (3 or 4). Based on available data, monitoring of all indicators throughout this brief heatwave did not reveal any major health consequences, particularly among the population aged 75 and older.
