COVID-19

The epidemic in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes continued to slow down in week 39 (September 27 to October 3, 2021), but the decline in indicators was less pronounced.

• Decrease (-10%) in the regional incidence rate: 48 cases per 100,000 inhabitants

• Higher viral circulation:

  • among the youngest age groups, children and adults up to age 40.

  • in the departments of Ain, Ardèche, Drôme, Rhône, and Haute-Savoie

• Most hospital indicators are trending downward

• Slight increase in first-dose vaccinations (+0.4 percentage points): 75.3% of the population in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes has received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 73.2% is fully vaccinated.

Bronchiolitis

Start of surveillance. No epidemic in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, but an increase in emergency room visits for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age.

Influenza

No epidemic in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes; sporadic detection of influenza viruses. Baseline level of surveillance indicators in week 39 (emergency department visits for influenza-like illness).

Gastroenteritis

• Regional trend: stable

• In hospital settings (Oscour® network emergency facilities): moderate activity
