For August 29, 2017, activity levels at emergency services and SOS Médecins were comparable to those observed over the previous 7 days. Heat-related conditions across all age groups on August 29 accounted for 0.38% of all emergency department visits (all causes, all ages) and 0.86% of all consultations (all causes, all ages) at SOS Médecins clinics.

For yesterday (August 29):

  • 14 emergency room visits for heat-related illnesses across the entire region; these visits involved exclusively adults (50% of whom were aged 75 and older). The majority of these emergency room visits for heat-related illnesses were followed by hospitalization (71%).

  • Six SOS Médecins consultations for heat-related illnesses, including four among people aged 75 and older, were reported.
