Heat Wave and Health Alert System in Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes. Update as of August 29, 2017.

Four departments are under an orange heat wave alert and six departments are under a yellow heat wave alert.

On August 28, 2017, activity levels at emergency services and SOS Médecins were comparable to those observed over the previous 7 days. Heat-related conditions across all age groups on August 28 accounted for 0.39% of all emergency department visits (all causes, all ages) and 0.53% of all consultations (all causes, all ages) at SOS Médecins clinics.

For yesterday (August 28):

  • 16 emergency room visits for heat-related illnesses across the region; these visits primarily involved people over 75 years of age (50%) and adults over 45 years of age (25%). The majority of these emergency room visits for heat-related illnesses were followed by hospitalization (81%).

  • Four SOS Médecins consultations for heat-related illnesses in adults were reported in the Rhône department.
