Plan to Prevent the Spread of Dengue and Chikungunya as of May 24, 2012
In Rhône-Alpes, the system for installing egg-laying traps has been implemented by EID Rhône-Alpes. A summary of the initial survey results will be available shortly. Five departments are classified as Level 0b: controlled presence of Aedes albopictus.In the two metropolitan regions (PACA-Corsica and Languedoc-Roussillon), where a total of 9 departments are classified as Level 1, suspected cases of dengue or chikungunya have already been identified since the start of the surveillance period (May 1): 10 in PACA, 2 in Corsica, and 7 in Languedoc-Roussillon. Epidemiological and entomological investigations are underway. No autochthonous cases have been identified. Meanwhile, in the overseas territories, vigilance remains high in Mayotte, Réunion, and New Caledonia.
