Surveillance of infections associated with the novel coronavirus (MERS-CoV).

As of July 23, 2013, the WHO’s report on the international situation lists 90 cases of infection with the novel coronavirus (including 45 deaths) across 8 countries/emirates: Germany: 2 cases (1 death), Saudi Arabia: 70 cases (38 deaths), France: 2 cases (1 death), Italy: 3 cases, Jordan: 2 cases (2 deaths), United Kingdom: 4 cases (3 deaths), Tunisia: 2 cases (plus one probable case who has died), and the United Arab Emirates (5 cases). In France, 232 reports of suspected NCoV infections were received, including 7 contacts of confirmed cases and 52 possible cases, all of whom were tested (for a total of 59 tested cases): only 2 have been confirmed by the CNR to date (including 1 death).In France, on June 28, the High Council for Public Health (HCSP) updated a document on the management and prevention of MERS-CoV infections, the coronavirus responsible for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV).
