Influenza Surveillance in the Auvergne Region – Status as of February 12, 2014: 3rd epidemic week (activity on the rise)
Increase in the weekly number of outpatient visits for flu-like symptoms
Incidence of influenza-like illnesses seen in general practice consultations estimated at 451 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, representing more than 6,000 consultations in the region
Hospital activity remains stable
16 severe cases of influenza reported since the start of surveillance (165 nationwide)
Virological data from Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital: increase over the past 3 weeks in the number of isolated influenza viruses (all type A)
