The region experienced two heat waves during the summer of 2025. The heat’s impact on health resulted in 779 heat-related deaths over the course of the summer. In addition, there were 2,784 emergency room visits (1,856 of which led to hospitalization) and 550 SOS Médecins calls for iCanicule.
