Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The dengue epidemic continues throughout French Guiana. The number of clinically suggestive cases and the number of biologically confirmed cases remain at high levels despite a downward trend observed since early May, which should be interpreted with caution given the incompleteness of the data. Serotypes DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4 are co-circulating, with a strong predominance of serotype DEN-2. Given the overall epidemiological situation, it is important to emphasize the importance of eliminating larval breeding sites and taking personal precautions against mosquitoes. In the event of sudden onset of fever, it is recommended to consult your primary care physician.
