Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The dengue epidemic continues throughout French Guiana. The number of clinically suggestive cases and the number of biologically confirmed cases remain at high levels despite a downward trend observed since early May, which should be interpreted with caution given the incompleteness of the data. Serotypes DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4 are co-circulating, with a strong predominance of serotype DEN-2. Given the overall epidemiological situation, it is important to emphasize the importance of eliminating larval breeding sites and taking personal precautions against mosquitoes.
