Influenza Surveillance in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands. Update as of May 3, 2019.

Epidemiological Situation

Influenza activity has returned to baseline levels in Guadeloupe and Saint Barthélemy. In Guadeloupe, slightly more than 9,000 cases have been estimated in private practice since the start of the epidemic; 15 severe cases were reported, five of whom died. The influenza A virus has been identified primarily in community settings and hospitals. In Saint Barthélemy, 149 cases have been reported in community practice since the start of the epidemic, and no severe cases have been recorded.
