Epidemiological Situation of Bronchiolitis in Guadeloupe. Update as of December 10, 2014.
Situation Analysis
The number of general practice visits for bronchiolitis has exceeded the expected seasonal peak for the past nine weeks. From November 24 to December 7, the number of emergency department visits for bronchiolitis decreased at the University Hospital (CHU) while remaining stable at the Regional Hospital (CHBT). In private practice, the outbreak has been declining over this period. Despite the decline that appears to be beginning in Guadeloupe, it is important to reiterate and disseminate as widely as possible the recommendations aimed at limiting the transmission of the virus and ensuring appropriate care for infants.
