Dengue Surveillance in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands. Update as of June 26, 2020.

Epidemiological Situation

Guadeloupe: The epidemic has continued at moderate levels since early April. The predominant circulating serotype is serotype 2. Outbreaks have been identified in the municipalities of Bouillante, Petit Bourg, Le Gosier, and Saint-François.

Saint Martin: The outbreak continues at moderate levels. The predominant circulating serotype is serotype 1. Vector control efforts have identified a higher number of confirmed cases over the past four weeks in the neighborhoods of Cul-de-sac, Baie Orientale, Baie Nettlé, and Jardin d’Orient.

Saint-Barthélemy: Since mid-April, epidemiological surveillance indicators have been at high levels. According to vector control services responsible for investigating each confirmed case, the number of cases is spread across the entire island. However, the neighborhoods with the highest number of confirmed cases over the past four weeks are: Marigot, Lorient, Gustavia, Vittet, Grand Cul-de-Sac, and Saline. The Technical Committee for Dengue Monitoring considers the current circulation of dengue to constitute an epidemic situation. The management committee may be consulted shortly to discuss a potential change in the Psage phase.
