Dengue Surveillance in the Caribbean. Update as of September 28, 2023.

Key Points

  • In Guadeloupe and Martinique, all dengue surveillance indicators have continued to rise since the start of the epidemic in both territories at the end of July (week 2023–30). The DENV-2 serotype has been identified in all investigated cases in Martinique and Guadeloupe.

  • In Saint Martin: Confirmed sporadic cases have been reported. The epidemiological situation remains calm but is being closely monitored.

  • In Saint-Barthélemy: The previously calm epidemiological situation is becoming more active, with an increase in laboratory-confirmed cases since early August (week 2023-31) and emergency department visits for dengue syndrome reported since week 2023-37. The situation is being monitored closely.

Phase 1 of the PSAGE* remains in effect in Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy: sporadic cases.
