COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Martinique as of May 25, 2022

Key Points

Although the testing rate remained stable in Week 20, the incidence and positivity rates increased by 8% and 1.9 percentage points, respectively. However, the increase in the incidence rate remains low compared to those observed in the previous two weeks. Furthermore, no major impact on hospital admissions was recorded in Week 20.

The 40–49 age group recorded the highest incidence rate for the second consecutive week. The 7-day rolling effective R (May 15–21) was 1.13 – 95% CI [1.10–1.16], still significantly above 1 but lower than that of Tuesday, May 17 (1.37 [1.33–1.41]).

At the hospital level, new admissions across all departments remained stable, while the number of visits to adult and pediatric emergency departments increased in week 20.
