In Martinique, the epidemiological situation continued to improve in Week 28.
Against a backdrop of stable testing rates, the incidence rate was down 26% compared to Week 27.
The positivity rate also decreased by 5.2 percentage points compared to the previous week.
The 30–39 age group had the highest incidence rate. The 7-day rolling effective R (July 10–16) was 0.64—95% CI [0.62–0.67], significantly below 1 and still indicating a slowdown in SARS-CoV-2 circulation over this 7-day rolling period.
In S28, the L452R mutation (C1 screening result), which is present in several Omicron sublineages (BA.4, BA.5, BA.2.11), was detected in 88% of cases, compared to 77% in Week 27. At the hospital level, visits to adult emergency departments as well as the number of visits for suspected COVID-19 conducted by SOS Médecins were decreasing, while new admissions across all departments remained stable.
