COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Martinique as of December 23, 2021

Key Points

In week 2021-50, the incidence rate and positivity rate remained stable compared to the previous week, despite increased testing. Viral circulation remains high. Hospitals remained under extreme strain due to the high number of hospitalized
patients, particularly in intensive care. Given inter-island travel and the isolation of the Omicron variant in Saint Martin and Guadeloupe last Friday, there is concern that this variant will emerge in our territory in the coming weeks, posing a risk of a resurgence of the epidemic.
