COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy as of November 19, 2021

Key Points

The epidemiological situation remained stable in terms of virological indicators and at a low level in hospitals. The fourth wave of the epidemic ended in mid-October (week 41 of 2021). However, there has been an increase in the incidence rate compared to last week after accounting for holidays and non-working days (November 1, 2, and 11). It should be noted that this is the first week in which the effective reproduction number (Reff) has been significantly above 1 since the end of the fourth wave. The situation should be monitored closely in the coming weeks.
