COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy as of March 10, 2020

Key Points

In Guadeloupe, an increase in virological indicators was observed in week 2022-09. Incidence and positivity rates rose amid the prevalence of the Omicron variant. Testing activity, however, remained stable compared to the previous week. The incidence rate was rising among people aged 15 to 44.

For the first time since February 1, 2022, the effective R value calculated from data reported in SIDEP for samples collected between February 27 and March 5, 2022, was 1.08 [1.03–1.13], significantly higher than 1. This confirms the beginning of a resurgence in more active circulation of the virus within the country.
