Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika

  • In Corsica, no imported cases of dengue, chikungunya, or Zika have been confirmed since May 1.

Extreme Heat, Heat Wave

  • Emergency room activity for heat-related illnesses has been generally stable over the past few weeks, slightly below the expected level for this time of year. Only one consultation for a heat-related illness took place at SOS Médecins.
  • A heat wave is set to hit the mainland but is not expected to affect Corsica.

Pollen and allergies 

  • Allergy-related activity at SOS Médecins increased slightly and remained higher than the level typically observed during this season.
  • Pollen levels are high throughout the island.

Mortality

  • No excess mortality has been observed.
